All you need to know about our campervan hire

Availability and Bookings

Our campervans are available to hire all year round.

We do get busy during the warmer months and recommend booking as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. If you're a keen festival goer, please book as early as possible, Glastonbury campervan hire is often booked one year in advance. We're still busy in the cooler months but will often have at least one campervan available.

So, our recommendation?  Book now to avoid delay using our easy booking system that lets you see availability slots quickly and efficiently. And Contact Us for any query, big or small.

Driver Documentation

All our campervans include fully comprehensive insurance and UK breakdown cover.

We have strict document criteria as set out by our insurers. Below is what is required for each driver with no exceptions.

We're very happy to accept paperless documentation, so please feel free to email your online statements to us rather than mailing.

What we need to see before you arrive:

·  For each driver we need to see a scanned copy of your photo card driving licence

·  For each driver we need a DVLA licence check code so we can view your licence details before you arrive.

·  For each driver, two other proofs of address that show the document date and your name and address which must also match your driving licence.  The following only are acceptable:

  • Electricity (bill/statement)
  • Water (bill/statement)
  • Gas (bill/statement)
  • Broadband/Landline bill
  • Council Tax
  • TV licence
  • Credit card (bill/statement)
  • Mortgage statement
  • Polling card
  • Student loan
  • Payslip
  • Mobile phone bill
  • Loan Statement

Please note these documents cannot be dated any older than 90 days of the hire start date.

Payment and Security Deposit

We take a £150 deposit, with the balance due 6 weeks prior to the hire.

A security bond is required before the campervan leaves our premises.

We will pre-authorise £500 (£750 for festivals) on your credit card.  Alternatively, this can be paid by BACS provided it has cleared before collection of the campervan.

Providing the terms and conditions are met, the bond will be released back into your account.

Please note: we do not accept cash for the security bond.

Collecting your campervan

All collections are made from our VW Campervan Hire premises in Derbyshire.

Collection times are displayed once you have selected your desired dates.

If you plan to be in the area earlier in the day, do let us know as we might just be able to get your van ready slightly ahead of schedule.  If you can't reach us by your allocated collection time, do get in touch as soon as possible.

Returning your campervan

We always recommend planning ahead and allowing plenty of time for the drive back to us. It is important that the campervan is unpacked and ready to hand back to us by the specified time as we need to get it cleaned, serviced, and ready for its next campervan hire adventure.

Return times are displayed once you have selected your desired dates.

Do please let us know if you are delayed or held up for any reason on your journey back to us.

Dog friendly

Four-legged friends are VERY welcome to come along on your campervan adventure. We are animal lovers ourselves and understand the importance of being able to bring along your furry friend.  All that we ask is that they are never left unattended. And that a soft bed is brought along as our seats are not paw-friendly.

As an extra at the time of making your booking, we charge a one-off fee to cover the additional cleaning required to make sure the campervan is spic-and-span for the next customer.

Taking the campervan to Europe

*********** European use is currently not permitted until further notice************ Europe is a short hop away across the Channel and what an amazing array of countries, landscapes, horizons, landmarks and campervan adventures are waiting for you.  A campervan road-trip can be the perfect way to explore Europe having the freedom to easily roam from one country to another.

We love France and have taken one of our campervans to France many times, enjoying lush countryside, rugged coastlines, quaint stone villages with cobbled streets, and vast silver-sanded coastlines.  Not to mention delicious local food and wine.

All campervans are permitted to travel to Europe.  A surcharge will be added at the point of booking to cover the additional insurance and breakdown cover. Customers must advise at the point of booking which countries they intend to visit as our insurance policy covers most but not all.

We know that friendly doggies just can't help getting their paws wet and muddy sometimes. To cover additional cleaning costs, we charge a one-off fee. When booking your VW campervan hire, simply tick the extras box that states 'Dogs'.
